I'm seriously thinking about buying a new bike. But again, like most bikers, im facing this very difficult choice -- 600cc or 1000cc. Which one should I buy? and why? For info- I have some experience -- have ridden a cbf 250 twister for a year (boring) and have ridden my bro's CBR1000RR 08 for like 7 months. I only fear being deceived by a 600 due to the difference in power -- havent tried a 600 though. Hope u will be able to help me out guys! Thx. another option is the Z750, but again -- lack of power compared to the Fireblade (im using it as a reference cause its the last bike ive ridden).

frankly, no one needs a liter bike. I think they're silly for street use. If you're going to drag race it, or you're an AMA caliber racer, then yeah, you can actually use a 1000.

Otherwise, a 600 is more than enough power for the street. People will say, "the thousand has so much more torque." True. but if that's what you're after, buy a twin. SV650, SV1000, TL1000, RC51, etc.

No one needs 165hp for the street. Honestly, I rarely ride my 600 on teh street even. It has lots of power, but not much torque. my old 500cc twin is easier to ride on the street, and a LOT more comfortable.

If i were in your place, I'd buy a 650 twin, but if you're set on deciding between a 600 and a 1000, save yourself $2.5 in sticker price, and lord knows how much more in insurance, and get the 600. anyone who thinks they 'need' more than 110hp isn't using it right...
