100 Greatest Stand-Ups 2010 (Next Friday)

I'm going to judge this new list on how high Stewart lee is, hopefully higher then 41, he would defiantly be in my top 10, if not 5.

Totally agree.

He must have/still be doing something right, his younger peers are crediting him with paving the way.

I agree with them, he emerged during the age of Bernard Manning, Jim Davidson, and the more family friendly comics, but offered something totally different. In the UK at least there was no one like him.

He can still be controversial and his material is never repetative. And he has never fallen into the trap of over exposure on tv like todays most popular stand ups.

Completely, entirely subjective, of course - but I can't believe Dara O'Brien is as low as he is. He's below Jo Brand and Al Murray, for goodness sakes!

He's a guy of genuine wit, and unlike many he uses masses of spontenaity and audience participation, rather than relying on the same scripted gags and stories. His routines are all over the TV, and I've very rarely seen the same segment twice.

As far as I could see this was a 2 hour programme stretched to 4 hours TBH. Only when they got to the Top 10 was there any proper discussion.
IMO Frankie Boyle should have been higher. Love Bill Bailey though his latest, Tinselworm, isnt as good as Part Troll.
Michael McIntyre in the top 10? Come on. I think he's funny but not sure if hes THAT good, and Rhod Gilbert is just Mr. Ranty Shouty.

I have always enjoyed Ed Byrne. First came to my attention with his Alanis Morrisette spoons routine :D

Pedantic and Whimsical is superb. Especially the part about waking up in the morning. Probably too close to home :D

He's also very good at handling himself on panel shows. Always has a joke or witty comment and is not limited by just picking from his current tour set like some of the comedians on those shows.

That's looking into things too much, I know this will surprise a few people but there are a large group of people who love his stuff, and since there's no negative marking he was always going to be fairly high.

Jim Davidson and Bernard bloody Manning, who votes for those two, seriously?!

Pleased to see Tim Minchin was in there although if he had been in their main list of stand ups you could vote for I think he would have higher up.

Also great to see Sean Locke in there but why was there only a really old clip of him and absolutely no commentry? They just knd of bypassed him.....
