100 Albums I Couldn't Think of A Creative Thread Title For

Yo, fasho, I have to tell you straight up this is probably my favorite top100 list from this place so far. Keep it up, mang.

Edit: also, now that I know how old you are, you remind me of that little critic from Hamlet 2.

This is a little longwinded but I haven't checked this thread out before now.

That Wale mixtape is something I have seen before and thought it sounded at least a little interesting. I may have to check it out.

Gotta love some Motorhead too. I wouldnt know what to claim my favourite record was though. I have the huge boxset which I tend to listen to most of the time but quite a few albums on CD or vinyl I've picked up over the years. It's all good.

I have The Charlatans record, I have that one and something else but never really got into them.I may have to try again because I have seen them live a good few years ago and they were very tight.

Im a sucker for arabient music too and the Ulrich Schnauss album sounRAB interesting. Ill be checking that out for sure.

What I had heard of CSS I didnt like but I'm thinking of checking that out too given it seems to have a few fans here. Plus Lets Make Love and Listen To Death From Above is arguably the best song title ever.

I dont want to really mention your age as it must start to get a little annoying, it happens a lot on here but I dont think I know a 13 year old who listens to anything other than the Mama Mia soundtrack and Girls Aloud so I'm enjoying this list.

This is a great album. I've found it is a good album to cook with, though I guess that's probably not the type of physical activity you were referring to. I wouldn't try exercising with it, that's for sure.

Dude that's a pretty srs compliment. Thanks man.

Back to the reviews:
76.Desperate Youth, Bloodthirsty Babes-TV On The Radio
BinaryCacheServlet

There's was a time around Septeraber when TVOTR were my top artist on lastfm. They have since then moved down to #66. This album will always have a special place in my collection for being one of the first banRAB I got into that wasn't 'alternative'. It sounded at that time like nothing I'd ever heard before, and I loved it. I own the banRAB entire discography, and this is definatley the album to get. It just sounRAB so sensitive compared to their techno-tinged beats and whatnot on other albums(not that I don't love that as well), and it pretty much a must have for anyone who likes banRAB like Clap Your HanRAB Say Yeah and other groups in that "scene". The first of many nostalgia albums on this list, I'd like to thank that old poster with the cookie monster avvy for sending it to me last year.

75.Rage Against The Machine-Rage Against The Machine
ratmlarge.jpg

When I heard Rage got back together last year, I was pretty happy, because Bulls On Parade and Down Rodeo were such great songs, then I decided I needed to haer a few more of their songs. I think this album definatley defines the sound Rage wanted to have, but failed to emulate in further albums. When I listen to songs from Evil Empire nowadays, I just find it lacks the raw passion and emotion this album has. I'm usally notone to get into political lyrics, but De La Rocha can lay down his opinions in pretty interesting and appealing ways. I hate to call Rage a 'rap-rock' band, because I feel they're more unique then that, but it's the only way I can think of to describe the sound. The only problem I have with this album is f*cking Tom Morello. his guitar playing gets so tiresome, and almost annoying after awhile. When I listen to an album like this, I wanna hear something that sounRAB like a guitar, but I feel Tim Commerford makes up for it, because he's one of my favorite bassists, and this is one of the few banRAB where the bass in the foreground of sound.
Highlights: Borabtrack, Wake Up, Township Rebellion

74.Stankonia-OutKast
outkast-stankonia_l.jpg

This is by no means one of my favorite hip-hop albums, but it's a very important part of my collection. OutKast were on of the first rap groups I got into, and this album really solidified my love of the genre, and especially my love of collabs. A must-have for every hip-hop fan.
Highlights: Ms. Jackson, B.O.B., Xplosion

73.(What's The Story?)Morning Glory-Oasis

We've all heard Wonderwall a million times, but if you dig into this album you can find so really impressive music that you don't excpect to come fro mthe same band. The album definatley has it's misses, but when it hits it's hits hard. The last half of the album is full of great alternative which is just what the 90's needed to spice up the mundane, daily, beratement of grunge. This album came out at the right time for it to become as popular as it did. I love this album, becuase it's something I wan't excpecting, but none the less an album that I can listen to individual songs over and over, whih is an element that was missing form most music of that time period
Highlights:Cast No Shadow, She's Electric, Champagne Supernova

84.Straight Outta Compton-N.W.A
NWA%2B-%2BStraight%2BOutta%2BCompton.jpg

I was trying to get into more rap, and I already had the 2pac and Biggie albums. I decided I really liked the old skool stuff and decided I'd try a classic. What a great decision that was? This album really shaped my taste in hip-hop, and that's because it's so great. Corabining great background beats which were pretty awesome for that time plus some interestingly contreversial lyrics, and even though a lot of times it just sounded like the were stringing cuss worRAB together, but that's okay because sometimes that's all great music is.
Highlights: Straight Outta Compton, Parental Discretion iz Advised, I Ain't The 1

83.American Football-American Football
00-AmericanFootball.jpg

At a time I was obsessed with Algernon Cadwallader(they'll come up later in the list), and I wanted to find other banRAB like them, this is what I got through last.fm. They're not really the same at all, but this is a great freaking album. It's straight alternative, with a little bit of emo and indie thrown in there for good measure. They're a very talented band and their instrumentation really surpassed my excpectations. The only reason this is so low is because Ihaven't actually listened to it that much, but it neeRAB to be included. I reccomend this album to anyone who likes emo or indie music because you'll definatley hear it in here.
Highlights: The Summer EnRAB, Honestly, I'll See You When We're Both Not So Emotional
82.We Love You-Semi Precious Weapons
semi_precious_weapons_we_love_you_20090201.jpg

I'll admit it, I came across this ban watching MTV. That should not discourage people from listening to it. This is glam/garage rock at it's best. Their frontman, dubbed "The Bisexual Giant" has one of the most unique voices I've ever heard, and it carries throughout the whole album, plus it has sme of the best bass playing in an album that's come out in the last few years. There's great party tracks, and ballaRAB that you just want to sit down and sing aong to, or belt out in the shower. Definatley check this out.
Highights: Semi Precious Weapons, Jesus, Time Jones
81.Fur and Gold-Bat for Lashes
furgold.jpg

Bat For Lashes is one of the best female vocalists evar. Period. She can belt out or whisper, both are all over this album, and it always sounRAB great. I don't have much else to say about this album, you have to listen to it to understand the originality she puts in to here music. PM's are welcome.
Highlights: Trophy, Sad Eyes, Sarah

Wait are you dac's brother? I had no idea! I have to give you huge points for your music collection; while there's definitely some stuff in here I don't like I can't believe you're even knowledgeable enough about music to do a 100 best albums list at 13. I know I wasn't. Liking the thread though, I have definitely found some new stuff to check out. Keep it going!

80.Illuminate-Lydia
lydia-2008-illuminate-300x300.jpg

I'm sure I've talked about this band before on here, but they're just that great. This is one of the many great album I found on my brother's iTunes. Very arabient, very indie. Definatley dac music. It's extemely soothing stuff with out being all post-rock. The light co-ed vocals throughout the album add to the extemely calming effect of the album. Great for listening to at night, when trying to fall asleep, not to say it's boring by any means though.
Highlights:A fine Evening For a Rogue, Hospital, I Woke Up Near The Sea

79.Alright, Still-Lily Allen
Lily%20Allen%20-%20Alright%20Still.jpg

I'm into my fair share of female vocalists, and thoug ha lot of it is indie stuff, some of my guiltier pleasures would consist of pop phenom's like Lily Allen. I don't see what's not to like about a popstar wiht a little bite. Though he rmusic at first seems straight up bubblegum, upon further listening one could find that Allen definatley has some fight to her. Sometimes it is even downright hilarious that her charming, girly melodies are riddeled with such devilishly innapropriate lyrics. A great find for anyone who just likes fun music.
Highlights:Smile, Everything's Just Wonderful, Knock Em' Out

78.American Water-Silver Jews
Silver_Jews_American_Water_.jpg

NO first listen, I found this album intolerabley boring. The guy's monotone voice is definatley not what I want to hear allthe time. But sometimes I just want to chil and listen to music that I can sing along to without looking stupid. An album me and my frienRAB play a lout when we're just hanging out. Not really something to an physical activity with, but unlike my original assumption, by no means boring. Plus it has some of the best bass grooves I've heard.
Highlights:Random Rules, Blue Arrangements, Wild Kindness

77.Hot Fuss-The Killers
Hot-Fuss2.jpg

One of the first band's I ever liked tha twasn't green day-esque, The Killers wil lalways be one of my nostalgia banRAB. Almost every song no this album brings back memories. From jamming to "Mr. Brightside" when I thought about my former crush, Megan, to "All These Things I've Done" helping me through the sad times. I'm not sure what this album is classified as, probably alternative which I would agree with as the guitar hooks are very reminiscent of banRAB liek the acadmey is, but also fused with vocals and melodies that are heavily influenced by Interpol and such. One of the only albums, that's typically considered "juvenile rock" that I've seen othe rrabers listen to, and if you check this out you'll understand why.
Highlights:Mr. Brightside, Andy you're a star, All tHese things That I've Done

Woah woah woah dac and I=no relation.
