There are three pull strings in the first floor. In the second floor, there is a closet with three lamps that are operated by the three strings. You can go to the second floor only once, but you must discover which string operates which lamp.

What to do?
 
Pull one string and leave that light on for a long period of time, pull another string and leave it on for a shorter period of time and dont pull the other string at all. The bulb that is the hottest is operated by the first string, the warm bulb is operated by the second string and the cold bulb is operated by the third string.

Pull String 1 and String 2.
Leave there for a while.
Pull String 2.

The lamp that is on is from string 1, the lamp that is warm is from string 2, and lamp that is cold is from string 3.

You turn two of them on. After a while turn off one of them but leave the other one on. After another while, turn the other one off and quickly go to the closet. Touch the bulbs and the one that is hotter is the one you turned off last, the one that is warm is the one you turned off first and the other is the one you didn't turn on obviously.
