i have a 10 gallon fish tank with 7 zebra danio in it. where i live, the temperature is around 90 degrees. i do have a heater in the tank and i turned it off but because the temperature is so hot the water temperature keeps going up. what should i do?

also......... my PH is really high and the PH decrease i put in the tank is not working. the water i put in the tank was poland spring water from the store. what should i do?

thanks

I would put the tank in a shady area of the house, or cover it so the sun cant warm it up anymore. Then I would add a piece of driftwood or two. driftwood will naturally lower the ph, once it lowers to where you want it, use a ph stabilizer. Do you have any shells or limestone in there, they will raise ph, remove them until you stablize. if you do.

They make chillers for fish tanks, and I would suggest doing a water change to try to decrease the Ph. Make sure to put water conditioner in the new water before you change the old water. Do a water change everyday or every other day until the Ph is where it needs to be.
