10 dpo...negative test but signs?

hey I have had sore nipples today and a little bit yesterday (the ONLY time i ever got sore nipples was when i was pregnant before)....I also had dull achy cramps yesterday (9 dpo) the kind i get about 2 hrs before my period starts. but its to early for my period to start! I took a test today and it was negative. Does that mean I am not pregnant? If i had hcg in me that would make my nipples sore then why wouldnt the hcg show on the test...I also took the test in the afternoon if that means any thing... THANKS!
 
try taking the test first thing in the morning. that's when the hormones that the test detects are most present and make sure its not too early for the test
