10 Cartoons that Should Stay Retired

That list is dumb, because there's no way any of those shows could ever make a comeback, since almost all of them are based off of pop culture trends that haven't been popular in years. Futurama couldn't be any farther from the type of shows in that list.

You want a real list of shows that should stay retired, but actually stand a chance of being rebooted? How about Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and so on.

Wait, did that article trash "Life with Louie"? "Life with Louie" was AWESOME, and anybody who thinks otherwise should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't see anyone of those shows coming back, ever, maybe with the soul exception of the Snorks (and that is really pushing it). They are all based off of movies and people that no one has cared about in the past 15+ years

I remember of this show. This series is totally underatted and decent. Police Academy cartoon was also good at my opinion. And Snorks frighten me as a kid like the perfect Smurfs knock-off.

But just put 10 retired cartoons series from the 80's and 90's? Sheeesh! I still like better to have their opinions from shows of the 2000's decade and now.

At least 'Futurama' had more substance than most of the other shows, and despite it's limited 'sci-fi nerd' appeal, it's made a comeback anyway. As Bender would say 'I'm Invincible'!Now these shows definitely deserve a comeback because let's face it, current day pop culture needs a serious whacking, and who better to do that than the Acme Alumni, The Warners, and good old Freakazoid!Except for The Turtles. That was one of the few bright spots of that shameless block.

That's what I meant when I said Futurama couldn't be any farther from the shows on that list, because it's the complete opposite.

South Park, Family Guy, The Simpsons...

In all honesty though, those old WB shows need to stay retired, despite what some people on these forums say. Sure, I'd love to see the characters again, but do we really want to see them parody Britney Spears or Hannah Montana or God knows what else is going on in today's pop culture world? I don't.

Are you serious? That would be awsome! But only if it was done right, which i know won't happen. But those shows would be great just to make fun of some of the new trash they put on tv.

Sure, 'Family Guy', South Park', and 'The Simpsons' still carry that tradition of skewing pop culture, but they're mostly for the older set. The younger generation currently doesn't have very much in the way of clever send ups of pop culture.Nice to know I'm not the only one who believes that. ;)

It's been 12 years since Animaniacs ended, 13 since Freakazoid ended, and 17 years since Tiny Toons ended. At this point, there's really no chance of them getting the original crew together. At this point I'd rather have more shows in the same style than just bring those old shows back.

Though I do think if Freakazoid came out just a few years later, it would have lasted quite a bit longer. Don't know if it'd still be on, but it'd have more of an audience with the internet becoming more mainstream.

I don't think he watched any of those; he just grabbed 10 theme songs off of YouTube. Yeah, they're bad, but so were most 'toons of that period; he could have picked anything. There's only one 90's cartoon listed, and Life with Louie is only there because he hates Louie Anderson.

The only show of the list that has any inkling of a chance at a remake would be the Snorkies because its relatively pop culture free and doesn't rely on a date celebrity.

'course its not gonna happen.

'Life With Louie' was okay. Not great, but not terrible either. I agree that it shouldn't be on the list. More like 'correcting the mainstream news outlets who think they know alot about animation when clearly, they don't.' :rolleyes:I agree. That was a disastrous com back for Ren & Stimpy, and John K. ruined all his credibility by going full force on the 'extreme gross out' department despite few good episodes like 'Ren Seeks Help'.

Excuse, I must have misread the post: Was this supposed to be a list of series with pop cultural references or was this supposed to be a serious attempt at trying to suggest a list of series that deserved to die ?

Usually they are one in the same, but in the case of this article, I'm not so sure what they were going for :-|
