My 1 yr old has been crying and whining constantly for 2 days now and we can't figure out what's wrong. She's started getting over a cold she has and so we know she's feeling better but she just won't stop whining and crying about absolutely everything. Any ideas what it could be?

my daughter is 16 months old and she did the same thing and i brought her to the hospital and they looked at her ears and she has a double ear infection.. just as i thought. she might be teething. so i would bring her to the dr.

Lots of love and understanding. She must be very uncomfortable and cannot express herself. If you know she's feeling better - just molly coddle her - try to engage her in some books or toys - once her mind is off her illness, she'll forget about crying. By the way it could also be a stuffy nose which makes her uncomfortable, a ear ache - a belly ache, she could be constipated. Give her lots of fluids, clean her nose with saline water, hold a warm towel next to her ear and feed her veggies & fruits. She is sure to feel better with extra attention and love.

Getting over a cold? She could have an ear infection due to her eustachian tubes being clogged. Is she pulling at her ears or rubbing them? If so take her to a doc, antibiotics will knock it out.

I'm not a doctor, but maybe she is teething. Is she tugging at her ear? If so, might be an earache.
