'09 FLHTP (Cop Bike) Clutch Pull?

Looking at buying an '09 FLHTP for a project bike. Has about 8k miles, good shape and a pretty decent price to get the 103 and ABS.

I know the cop bikes have a "heavy duty" clutch. Does this translate into more resistance when engaging/disengaging? I've gotten real used to the easier clutch pull on my EG and VRSC versus the '05 Softail I had previously.

They don't even have a heavier spring. Clutch lever pull effort is the same as the other Touring bikes of that year. I know, as I ride an 09 Police bike and clutch lever effort is the same as my 07 FLHT with the reduced effort clutch.
 
Great minds think alike. Bought an 09 RK Police because it had the 103, ABS and only 1,200 miles on the clock.

I've owned 10 different bikes over 20 year of riding, and every clutch is different, but no big deal with the Police model. Maybe slightly heavier to pull, but after a few miles, you won't even notice it. In fact, at the 5,000 mile mark, I adjusted the clutch to tighten the pull.
 
Not to second guess you, but I think there may be a difference. There have been a couple of threads on the topic citing different part numbers which kind of makes sense that the Police models should have a heavier/longer lasting spring.
 
I did not know that, thanks. It feels the same to me so I thought they were the same. Glad to know there is a difference.

I wonder if that spring can be used in the clutches on the 96" engines?
 
I noticed a difference in the force required to pull the clutch lever when I went from the stock spring to the "high performance clutch spring" with the 103 kit. The stock spring barely had any resistance, the new spring has a nice feel to it (to me, anyway).
 
I have a 2010 FLHTCU and ride a 2009 FLHTP at work. Maybe it is just my ride at work, but the Police bike clutch pull is noticably heavier.
 
I just traded my 2010 FLHTC for a 2009 FLHTP ( it freed up $$ for the wife to move from a Nightster to a fatboy and I wanted the 103 and headpipes without cats)

The clutch pull is noticeably heaver. Both bikes had around 3000 miles ( cut me some slack I only had the 2010 for a month). The FLHTP also seems to have a narrower friction zone.

So yes it is noticeably heavier, but no it's still not too bad in stop and go traffic. The 103 makes up for it in my book.
