08 Chevy aveo wont accelerate past 15mph/2krpm?

Hi everyone im having issues with my 2008 Chevy Aveo and I would appreciate it if anyone could help me with it. Heres whats going on, it starts fine and everything but it wont accelerate past 15mps and 2000 rpms. My temperature sensor is bad becasue it doesnt turn on my fan. could it be that sensor that is telling my car that the car is still cold and maybe the gorvernor is limiting the rpms to 2K? Does anyone have any ideas?

That sensor not working may have forced the car to go into protection mode to keep from overheating and destroying the cylinder head and other engine parts. Replace the bad sensor since you know that's the problem, andI hope you didn't already fry that little engine.

Your car is in limp mode. I personally do not know much about new cars so that's about as much as I can tell you, however replacing the sensor and restarting the car computer should do the trick.

On another hand just google limp mode for your specific year/car.
