It's cold and I want to be warmer. I'm trying to find out the electrical system capabilities as far as plugging in heated gear. Anyone have any first hand experience?
I want to ensure that I am not going to discharge my battery more than the charging system can keep up

I know several folks with C50s/ Volusias that have electric gear. You should not have any problems if you stick to the electric jacket and gloves (skip the pants and socks), and make sure you keep other accessories (like the light bar or heated grips) turned OFF while you use the electric clothing.

Gig Harbor: C50T electrical system capabilities as far as plugging in heated gear.
Howdy,
I have a 08 C50C and we ride with heated gear. My jacket liner is 100-110 watts, my heated gloves are ~ 35 watts and my wife's jacket liner runs 95-100 watts. I have not had the battery drain down on me yet.

At night you can see the headlamp dim as the heat-controllers cylce the power to our gear.

Good Luck,
John

I have extra rear running lights and I had front spot lights.
With the dimming action I decided to change the front spotlights to LEDs and the extra rear running lights to LEDs too.
No real change, the headlamp still dims as the heat-controllers pulse power to our heated gear.

Regards,
John
