I doubt if my intermittent high-idle was a result of a contaminated IAT sensor, as the bike should never idle at 2000 RPMs under any circumstances. Also, I'm also certain it is not program-related since it was intermittent, probably happening once every 10 cold starts when the problem was occurring most often, which was lately before changing the IAC motor. It started last summer and went away after a few days of high-idle starts, coming back in about November of last year. It would happen intermittently then disappear for a while, idling normally for a month or more. The low-idle issue started only recently and that happened much more rarely. To me that points to a sticky IAC motor, IMO, but I wanted to try the easy and cheap methods (cleaning and ECM re-flash) first. Neither worked, but early results suggest changing the IAC motor was the fix for me. I'll be very perplexed if it doesn't, as I'm not sure what else it could be.

Take my word for it, the low idle and stall problem isn't limited to '07 models. I have an '06 Ultra, 88 cid that started dying at idle after about 24,000 miles (Oct '09). It threw a P-0505 fault code (Loss of Idle Control). Balt H-D couldn't get it to replicate the problem in the shop so they would not replace the IAC under warranty. They acted as though they had never seen this problem before. Luckily they did not charge me for the 2-1/2 hrs diags since the code was present. (would have cost them less to replace the IAC then they lost in wages). The problem occured twice the next day so I spayed carb cleaner into the holes and the problem dissappeared for over 5,000 miles. Now it's time to do it again.

Yes, but I'm the guy who named it WRONG.JPG, as it is a screen capture that I cropped in Photoshop, then saved as a JPG file. I had to name it something, and that seemed like a very good name. There's no suggestion in the manual that this diagram is wrong.
I believe it, as the part number for my '07 IAC suggests that it is the same part (27658-06). Is that the same number for your bike? I talked with Jamie at Fuel Moto about this on Thursday and he says that '07s seem to be plagued by this problem more than any other year. It makes me wonder if maybe HD used a bad batch of IAC motors, and it would be interesting to compare assembly dates with others who are having the same problem. Mine has an Oct. '06 assembly date.

I didnt read all the post just the Op's and a few others. I had the same problem and did a lot of research and got more confused then someone said they had the exact same problem so I listened and bought the 28.00 throttle position sensor and fixed it. For 28 bucks its worth a shot. Just my 2 cents.
Well, after almost a week the bike continues to idle normally without any issues. I'm very close to declaring that replacing the IAC motor was the fix for my bike, but I'm going to give it another week before doing that.
Now, there's one little issue that I didn't report earlier but still perplexes me. When I re-installed the induction module the idle-control cable did not adjust in the same position as before and adjusted exposing very few threads on the adjuster nut. Before the job the adjuster was threaded-out perhaps another half-inch.
I rode the bike for three days without issue, then yesterday while turning into my street the throttle suddenly took on an abnormal amount of slack, about like should've happened had I initially adjusted it in that position. I re-adjusted the cable, which is now in the original position before doing the job, and all has been hunky-dory since. I have no idea where that extra slack went or how the cable was able to function like that, and I disassembled and re-installed the cabling at the throttle body twice making sure the cable housing with spring was fully inside the bracket sleeve. Maybe the cable got hung-up inside the roll-off switch, then straightened up after I rode the bike a while. I can't see where it could take-up that much slack anywhere else.
Anyway, nobody should be concerned about this if you don't remove the induction module, which isn't necessary if you have a ratchet and Torx socket the right size to remove the inside IAC screw. Nonetheless I'd still like to know what happened.

My 07 Ultra has the low idle and stall issue. I also noticed that my speedo quit working and the engine threw the P-0505 code. Might replace the IAC as a first step

Hi hivoltg,
Might want to look at the vehicle speed sensor first, heard they can pick up dirt on them and could only need cleaning. Did you notice your indicators not cancelling as well, its another pointer towards the VSS.
