i'm in the same boat. i'm actually waiting on the rack to get in so it can be changed. my father is a professional mechanic and worked for Daimler Chrysler for 15 years. my van is actually a 2002 town and country, but they are literally the same vehicle, other than the emblem. He said that the racks are a weak point.
anyway, did you have it aligned after the rack was replaced? my father said that was imperative after something like that. i'm having it done this weekend and made the appointment for my alignment the same day. if you don't have it aligned it will wear weird patterns onto your tires and you'll have to buy new ones much sooner. hope i helped
