I started to drive to school this morning, but upon reaching the highway, my car refused to go over 50 mph, the check engine light came off, and it sounds like the car is having issues shifting into gear to get over 50. The RPMs go between 3/4 and won't go below when this happens. Over 45 mph the engine sounds like I'm sitting with it in park revving the engine.
I got it in May and it's been doing okay. I drive 100 miles a day four days a week (for school), so it racks on the miles, but I don't think this has anything to do with it. Since I got it, it shifts a little hard and jerky, and I think that might have led up to this.
I'm taking it to get coded later (when places are open), but in the mean time, what could be causing this?
