04 Chevy blazer SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT?

Okay heres the low down, I got my 2004 Chevy Blazer two door 2x4 in July of last year I have not had this light until like last month? So I took it to Advance Auto & they told me it was my gas cap as my grandparents told me it would be "right'? Well so I actually did not think it would be the three click thing because after getting gas, I always make sure that I tighten my cap the least three times. Well anyways. When I get to Advanced, they tell me it's my gas cap so I bought a new one and they reset my service light. . . . well my new gas cap is a PAIN IN THE A S S to get off and well, my service engine light came on. I love my vehicle I don't think anything is wrong with it, It runs as if it's new. Please tell me what I should do? What it could be. . . :/
 
tell me what code you get when someone who knows what they are talking about checks your obdII system. then i will tell you what area the problem lies.

never just guess with check engine lites. it can get expensive trying different things.

Newer cars like yours have pressure sensors in the tank that set off the check engine light replacing the gas cap with another one it may not be the correct type of gas cap i know that sounds wierd but any aftermarket gas cap you put on will let the light come on you have go to a dealership and get the correct gas cap for your vehicle why they do this ill never know but hey sensors need sensors to sense what the sensors are senseing you get me!!!!
