02 dodge stratus a/c question?

The a/c on my stratus will not come on. I can jump the compressor and the a/c works fine. I have checked all connections all seems tight. I have had problems in the past and all I had to do was switch the switch from a/c to defrost and back and it would work just fine. So I'm just unsure if its the switch in the cab or something else. I have check the fuses and relays and all seems fine a/c system is fully charged. The fan comes on and works fine also just no cold air. If this not not enough info just let me know and I can get you more this on has me stumped. Thanks
