I don't like this movie. The special effects are bad and the film is not well done.

I saw it on DVD last night. I was curious and I wasn't expecting to like it but OMG, this movie is amazing! The visual was great but the story was actually really good and made you think. I ended caring a lot for the non-humans. I hope we see Christopher comes back and save his friend.

Love this movie! Watched it on Blu-ray last night and it looked fantastic :D I think Sharlto Copley should be nominated for an Oscar.

I just saw this movie on DVD since it came out last week. It was different than I originally thought. I actually didn't really like the documentary feel of the beginning and considered shutting it off. But, I remembered all the great reviews and stuck with it and am glad I did! I really started to feel for the "prawns" towards the end- especially the little one. I started to get really emotional about their plight and was actually anxious about if they would make it to the big ship or not! I actually chuckled at myself because like you, I cared more for the CGI characters than the people that were getting killed! But, I loved it. Maybe with the DVD release more people will visit and talk about this movie.

Had so much fun watching it. Love to watch it in cinema again but i guess I'd rather buy a DVD for it..

very nice movie! one of my favorite movies i've seen... heard it's one of the top films ever made...

I don't know why this is so far back. I guess there's not much fans of it here. But I absolutely loved this movie. I'm so glad it got a nomination for 'Best Independent Movie' for the People's Choice Awards. It's going to be hard to choose which to vote for because I also loved 500 Days of Summer and Inglorious Basterds. :(

I loved District 9. I think that I will go to the cinema and watch it one more time!

The little one is indeed adorable! I feel thesame way about Wikus too. I semi-hated him when he tried to control the ship and his plan backfired. It's such a stupid move but then he just really loves his wife :(

Ditto. I totally fell for the little one! So adorable! But yeah, most of the humans were pretty terrible. I was pretty conflicted about Wikus though -- sometimes, I just want to smack some sense into him, and other times, he's OK.

^True, I also see it.

I can't believe I had more sympathy with CGI characters than the humans in the film heehee :)

personally i like the movie too very much. So here my Two Big Thumbs Up! lol. Movie is a bloody, nasty, complex, intense, and violent film. The movie has a deeper meaning and some didn't like it. I loved the opening scene which centers around the huge alien space ship that is parked, motionless over Johannesburg. Awesome movie. I would give it 9/10 (if it matters) ;)

8.6/10 to be exact. It's #49 out of 250, but whatever! Hell yes, it rocks! :D It's such a refreshing take on the sci-fi genre. Loved it. Definitely one of the BEST movies that I've seen this summer!

Already at #44 on the IMDb list of the top 250 movies ever made...:)
