    What's the difference between buying a synthesizer(Korg M3) vs a midi controller...

    ...with lots of VST's installed? What's the difference between the 2? It seems like whatever sounds a good synthesizer might have, can be reproduced simply with a ton of VST's installed with "any" small midi controller. So where does the difference comes in? Thanks.
