If you got cash go get mac. If you need a free OS go get linux (be specific on what distro to choose. I recommend Ubuntu.)

I don't have problems with flash videos. Or maybe you didn't let it buffer/load the video.

why use gif if jpeg is better?
If you still have problem then you can upload to image sharing sites like flickr, imageshack and embed in your webpage.
