Well how many satellites does it find when you open google maps? In the top right of the screen it shows the number of satellites. Mine finds 6 satellites within 15 seconds typically. Its always very fast. Be sure to have agps turned on, though this should be on by default, it always is for me.

I've seen the N85's screen when outdoors and would say that the N86 is definitely a marked improvement over it. It's still nowhere near as brilliant outdoors as it is indoors, though. The N86 does NOT have anti-fingerprint coating, unfortunately. The glass face is a fingerprint magnet!
