Why are all these phones so crappy?

Thanks for the reply, but I disagree. I've used an ipod touch for years and the touch screen KB on that is just awful, would never want a phone like that. Touch screen keyboards are just not advantageous. They take up almost the entire screen (allowing for much worse software design) just to...

Apple iPhone 3GS or Nokia N900?

iPhone - lots of apps. lots of support. simple. Did most of my everyday needs. Lacked: Tmo 3G, keyboard, real tv-out N900 - confusing at first. support is growing. Lacked: basic call features:voice dialing, that kind of stuff... apps are still developing. Overall I pick my N900 over my...

Are you voting for Obama just because you hate W?

+1. His tax plan alone is reason enough for anyone with any fucking brain cells to not vote for him. McCain may not be the best choice but Obama's tax plan is going to skullfuck the ecomony even furthur into a deep recession. Hell, Obama has even said that he will not rescend the Bush tax cuts...

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N86 8MP

How replaceable is the faceplate? me personally, i just like to use the phones as is, and just slap a new faceplate on. That's what i do with the e71, but it's cheap and easy with this phone. The last nokia slider i took apart was the music express 5300 and i was certainly was sorry i did that.

So...after this morning, can we expect symbian devices to plumet in price?

N8 has been getting pretty heavy promotion compared to other Nokia devices. Hasn't really helped it out though.

Blog Talkback: Cool Stuff: The Cat Piano

You'll find some great use of color in this somewhat dark short from the People's Republic of Animation. In The Cat Piano, we follow our feline protagonist as he attempts to find the source behind a string of kidnappings. This short was directed by Eddie White & Ari Gibson and produced by...

    Is Harry Shearer under-rated?

You know, for as much as I really don't like Shearer, I do have to say that he does really good voice work.

    Animation slam at Golden Globes

It's pretty obvious that the academy does stuff like this to throw animation enthusiasts a bone of some kind when secretly, they still look down on animation, and still see it as a 'kids stuff'. Paul McCartney's comments i find very interesting. Especially since he's been involved in a variety...

Toon Zone Talkback - "Transformers Animated: The AllSpark Almanac II": You Can Win If You Dare!

I'm pretty much the same. Enjoyed the show but for most of its run I was unemployed. When I finally landed a job, most stores were selling the line off to make room for the movie toys. My first actual Animated toy was the purple Shockwave Conekiller kindly purchased me and from there I bought...

Toon Zone Talkback - Toon Zone Top 5 Things I Learned in Bob Bergen's Voice-Over Class

Yes I can't imagine why people would assume voice acting is easy. It takes a lot of dedication and a lot of concentration and you often learn the voice you thought you were doing was nothing like you were actually sounding. But yes you dont' have to look the part nor do you have to get dressed...

Was Mr. Smithers being gay controversial in the early years of Simpsons?

I don't think it was.. it was humorous, after all. Three's Company's been doing it since the 70s. If anything, I'd say comedy about being gay is less controversial than if a show took the subject seriously. It seems people are more open about homosexuality if it's being played for laughs...

Cartoons for geeks: rise of a new demographic?

Interesting question. I'm not sure I'd call it a trend in that way just yet, or if it is, then it's not just limited to cartoons. Geek movies are taking over the multiplexes as well. I think that Hollywood has recognized the purchase power of the geek for a while. I suspect it's the Internet...

    Regarding Expectations

Well, while that never happened to me, the exact opposite did: I saw commercials for/heard about a series and was pretty disappointed. However, once the series actually aired, it turned out better than I originally thought, and I ended up enjoying it. It happened to me with two shows: "The...
