I always give my dog a couple, 5 treats to keep her busy and always tell her I'll be right back. It's probably not as bad as your neighbors are saying, And as for what CODY has to say, he's an a*s! That would only scare your dog more.

You need to find her a home where she doesn't get hit for something that is normal for a dog that wants attention from you. I know it might be hard for you but your dog doesn't need to be hit for any reason.
