Its not a matter of controlling the media. It's journalists. They tend to be more liberal because of the schools where they learn. The whole institution becomes more left leaning. Then along comes fox news who decides they will capture a larger portion of the market by taking the conservative view.

They will be overpaid and have job security like every unionized government job. They won't be able to run their own practice, but it still would be a good job. The government will probably provide incentives for med students in the form of grants to help pay for school also.
