    Why is American culture still so paranoid about sex and nudity as compared to Europeans?

    Because parents are so worried and over-protective of their children here. It's kind of sad. I'm American but I knew about sex while I was still in diapers. I think hiding something from a child makes them want to know about it more, so they'll do anything to find out about it. Overall, bad idea.

    Is it weird for a 17yr old guy to be going out with a 14 yr old girl?

    I don't think so. When I was 14 I was going out with an 18 year old. Our parents didn't seem to care.
