    HELP! Photoshop makes all colors gray?!?

    Ok, so I'm doing a picture on Adobe Photoshop version 3. When I try to pick a perfectly normal color to work with (like red) on the color selection tool, it shows up as some shade of gray when I use it! How do I get this to stop?
