Theres something wrong with the charging system. The battery and alternator (regulator/rectifier) have been tested to be good, yet I'm still only getting a 12.02v charge at the battery, Bike is a 1985 zx 900a ninja. Any help will be greatly apprieciated.

On my bike- there is a button on the tachometer that when pushed, it will also show you a volt output reading. Is this reading the alternator output or the battery reading. My battery just went dead,so I had the battery tested and its good, so I'm trying to figure out if its the alternator.

if it works? I dont have a preamp right now but would like to know if the amp works by trying it as described above. Thanks
