My bike has been running off lately, but last night it was terrible. It would idle fine, but if I gave it gas it would barely rev past about 3k, and if I tried to go from a stop, it would bog down and die. If I actually got it going, it would rev up okay until about 5k, where it would sputter...

my friend has an old 80's kawasaki kz750 that he wants to sell me. i haven't seen it run yet, but he says it still does, but that the timing on it is way off. its $400, would this be a good buy, or is it a bad idea? could the engine be torn up from the timing?

There is an ad on craigslist for a Kawasaki kz750 with a timing problem. The guy says that it is off time enough to not idle, And he says if I rode it the way it is it would destroy the engine. Is it easy to fix the timing problem, and if it is an interference engine, is the damage already done...

i just recently bought a 1979 kawasaki kz750 motorcycle that doesnt run very well. if i give it some gas, it will start, and as long as i keep on the throttle a bit it will stay running, but if i let it sit it will die. also when riding, it has low power and doesnt seem to rev past about 5k...
