I don't know man, most folks your height would not feel comfortable on a 125, but if you do then go for it. If buying another bike in a couple years is no problem then I'd start on something like the KX100 (personally I'd pick the KTM 105SX instead). Of course your 6'3" dad wouldn't be comfy on...

Technology changes pretty fast in the motocross world, so yes the KX is going to be a superior bike. Not because it's a Kawi, just because it's newer.

Actually a 250 or 400 would be the best choice. I'm not really familiar with the 500, but the XR400 is an awesome bike for your size. The XR250 would probably be plenty of power also but not the 200.
