    Vista and Linksys encryptions work fine together. I'm guessing user error. Make sure your keys match (it is case sensitive if you are using passphrases) and that you aren't filtering your vista machines mac address. Using a static IP to test with as someone else suggested is a good idea...

    There are some apps that can back up your settings. I use My Backup Pro (which is a paid app), but there may be a free version that can back up the system settings too. I don't know exactly which settings it backs up, as it just says "System settings" in the huge list of stuff it can back up...
