I think updating the firmware is very easy with Sony Ericsson...but I have never done it myself so I will let someone else comment on that. As for the D820, yes, its a nice phone, very nice screen (QVGA screen if I'm not mistaken), its also offered in the States by T-Mobile as the T809...

If only they had fitted the N91 with a better screen like the N90's Thats what has put me off ever getting one...
