Yes a o2 sensor could cause the slow acceleration and once it gets warmed up the car may have more gusto but be careful if I were you I'd spend 60 bucks or so to have a reliable mechanic perform a full certification check and run a scan on it so you can confirm the o2 sensor problem. Hope...
