As I said above,they always used to screen films in their correct ratio. These days with new films made with tv/dvd in mind and the allocation of the TV SAFE area ,many films don't suffer when shown in 1.85:1 but anything from the mid 80's back that was made in 2.35:1 loses image if zoomed
