I do prefer the book. I like the film though and had to get the R1 version as at the time I couldn't find it on R2. Tim Curry as Pennywise used to freak me out. Especially when Bill is grown up and returns to Derry. He goes to the graveyard and Pennywise is digging the graves.

Why did this film come out so later here than in the US?

As I said on another thread, I can't believe that Clerks hasn't had a Region 2 release yet. Kevin Smith DVRAB are generally poor in the UK though so even if it did come out it would probably be disappointing. The Mallrats R2 only has a trailer yet the R1 has tons of extras. Dogma is poor...
