Not if funded by an American company as the films are. Yes I agree a British funded tv series would have looked awful but look at the F/X and scenes on some of the U.S. show. I think they could have managed it. Also with the books being as popular as they are the studios would have known...

Toy Story is Pixar in a way., if you get my drift. Thats the film that got them world wide regonition and I think those films (TS 1 and 2) are the msot popular films they have done, they may not of made most money but they just seemed to have something about them. Toy Story 3 and 4 need Pixar...

Having read the link, I would mention that the Poirot episodes are the earlier one hour episodes (which will be even less after the aRAB are removed). The Marple episodes are the old BBC ones featuring Joan Hickson, not the recent ITV versions.
