Can anyone help? I'm trying to find out if a film based on a novel by Martina Cole is scheduled for showing on TV. I dont know its name or the channel but someone said it had been in a TV magazine recently. If I've missed it, thats too bad but if anyone knows, please let me know.

I have never seen it, but I do own the French R2 DVD which I bought a few months ago. It's on a massive "to watch" pile in my collection. :)

I like the look of it. Danny Boyle's normally a solid director (I didn't like The Beach or Slumdog Millionaire though).

There aren't many Barker adaptations worth seeing; those which start off promisingly always seem to crash and burn. Even Hellraiser was ruined by trying to pass itself off as American. Lord of Illusions is probably the best so far. Judged in isolation as a movie rather than as a CB effort, BoB...

I never said he was my favourite. I said he was good. You might want to go back and open your eyes when you read things. My favourites are Martin Scorsese and Jean-Luc Godard I dont think I have much to learn, dear, especially as Tarantino has been copying those two for his whole career.

I started a thread about this film in the TV Programmes forum just around Christmas... and loaRAB of people there said it was their scariest film too. That scene you've mentioned still gives me chills today... absolutely terrifying.

This is an interesting topic because it strongly revolves around the first truely scary movie you ever saw. Usually at a younger age. Movies just arn't as scary to me anymore (at 27). For me, it was Alien. A friend and I rented it when we were younger. I can't even think of what age we must...

Most of the films above make me cry, but I would like to add The Killing FielRAB to my list. The ending is very emotional and then they play Imagine by John Lennon over it. :cry::o

Perfect film - I loved it. I think to attempt a remake of such an iconic film was very brave, and it really paid off. Did the version they showed on TV include the lake creatures scene?
