You should definitely be calling the department....not asking us. In the last fitness test I went to, the letter told me to arrive in PT gear. I'd assume you'd do the same if you don't have any other tests, but assuming isn't a great idea here.

It isn't ridiculous, it's a huge saftey issue. Call the Non-Emergency number for the local Police Department. Everyone who isn't eventually killed by one of these kids will be better off because you were proactive.
