    Foster slams 'offensive' 'Sin City'

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/a75465/foster-slams-offensive-sin-city.html Huh? When was there a humorous or enjoyable kid abduction in this movie? I find criticism of the film's subject matter a bit rich coming from the actress who debuted as a 13-year-old child prostitute in...

    Never Let Me Go

I started a thread about Ishiguro a while back, but I think it's disappeared into the depths of the Books forum:( He's one of my favourite authors since studying 'The Remains of the Day' at A-level. 'Never Let Me Go' is probably my favourite of his books so far and I highly recommend his...

Roles that were offered and refused by other actors.

That reminRAB me that Daniel Day Lewis was asked to play the George in Room with a View, but chose to play Cecil instead, because he found the role far more interesting. I think it's fascinating trying to imagine other actors in well known roles.

A 4th series or a set of specials would be great to finish the story :)

    Triangle

One of the characters mentions Sisyphus from Greek mythology whose fate is a clue to the film's outcome. I thought it was a very well constructed film which would repay a repeat viewing. Definitely a cut above the usual horror fare.

    Favourite songs in Musicals

I havent seen many of the old classics. Not down to disregard or anything, more a case of me going "Oh I must watch that" and then one year later I still havent! I recently watched Easter Parade which I enjoyed, but no songs tend to stick out....maybe they dont sing in it?

I am slightly ashamed to say I adopred "What Women Want". While I am perfectly aware it was totally contrived and cheesy, I loved it!

The day the earth stood still

Started very well, but gradually went downhill after the first 45 mins or so. I thought the child actor was superb, actually. The plot was more of a problem.

Classic/Iconic/Art films you think are rubbish

Trying my very best at the moment to watch some of the classic films listed in this thread. Did not 'get' The Third Man or Citizen Kane - sorry but they left me cold. Just watched Grapes of Wrath today and loved that. I SO want to send this thread to someone I know - only thinks art house or low...

    Your favourite Martial Arts films

"Game Of Death" Not a bad martial arts film, but some of the thing they did in that !! A cardboard cut-out of Bruce Lee's face in the dressing room with Hugh O'Brian:eek: Awful "cut-ins" of the real Bruce during stand-ins fights ! During the locker room fight with Carl Miller (Bob...

Best ending to a film of all time *spoilers*

For me it is the Sixth Sense. Got to the end of that and it was just a case of "Woooooaaaahhhhh!" - very, very clever. Seven is the only film I've been in a cinema for that had people cheering the conclusion. As a previous poster mentioned, Terminator 3 has a really cool, clever ending, which...

    The Lovely Bones

Hannah;42505978']This film is very good however too many computerised graphics and not enough emotion.. The family seemed to move on from Susie's death quite quickly!! I know everybody deals with grief in their own way but there were rarely any scenes between Susie's mother and father after her...
