The problem of background music overriding speech is due to the fact that when the BBC people watch it on their systems, they have specially adapted televisions and so on. Could the fact that they have to recompress the audio for transmission have anything to do with the volume problem? I know...

As I said at the start, that's unlikely, because for any promotion to take off, they'd need a major tv channel to give them a good slot. Highly unlikely, not least because any channel that wanted wrestling could likely get an American show far cheaper than a UK show- it was said in the late 80's...
