This an excellent film with Viggo Mortenson amd Naomi Watts. However, due to loud noise at the time, I missed what Viggo said to Naomi when she asked him at the end "Why are you helping us??" So, does anyone know WHY he was helping her family above any other?

Yeah I'll go along with that. Both movies are superb but the second just shades it for me, Michael's final descent into darkness is just jaw-dropping cinema.
