Just watched a clip of "I am Legend" starring Will Smith. It looks promising and hopefully will be a better rendering of the story than the 2 prior attempts. The Book was very good, the movies less so. The Last man on Earth and the Omega Man above average but nothing special.

Yes and no. Yes they are bringing out 2 movie spin oRAB in one year, but not 2007. It'll be 2008 at the earliest. And it won't just be Magneto and Wolverine either. Young X-Men and Emma Frost will also be getting spin oRAB after.

To be fair to Ratner, I don't think he did a bad job at all. He was given a finished script, and told to film it in the style of Bryan Singer - which he did rather well IMO. The problem lay with the terrible script.

Are there moments when watching a film when you think it would have been so much better all round if X had been cast instead of Y? The one that always makes me wonder "what if" is the casting of Brandon Lee (had he still been alive of course) instead of KR in The Matrix.
