The easiest solution is to go to Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Application settings -> Contacts Storage -> Clear data. This will wipe all data associated with the Contacts app. The phone will then resync all your contacts, but you'll have lost any Call Logs and Frequently Called...

Now inserting foot into mouth. Just got hold of a 7100 on the weekend, its apps seem solid for PIM (more so then I remember) plus it manages to be small and look like a phone. Its also very cheap (especially on HoFo) so I think its your best bet.
