Same here. His death was definitely the most upsetting, and I also thought it to be very cruel. I'm guessing the story team had to go with the same deaths Kurosawa had in the movie. Being a Mifune fan I didn't like his death in the movie either, but oh well...

IMO the way to start is Ziggy. One of the greatest albums of it's era. Follow that up by Low. This would show a marked change in style from Glam pop/rock to a marked Avant Garde direction in the use of Synths etc. After than you have a choice of heading back to Hunky Dory, under appreciated IMO...

I'm not gonna lie, I can't stand half of Fripp's stuff, but King Crimson completely defined a revolution in music. And they had some fantastic, seminal albums. Lizard, Red, In The Wake of Poseidon are all great.
