The one I have is for a 1400 Intruder/ S83 and will not fit the 800/ S50. The C50 one will not fit either. But check ebay- they pop up frequently and usually go for about $100 or even less.

It could be the fuel tank. Next time squeeze the tank with your legs to see if the noise goes away. I'm not sure about the C50's but M50's fuel tank sit on rubber puck mounts. Some have suggested to put some Vaseline, silicon spray or adhesive felt strips on the mounts to make noise go away.
