    Nexus One or HTC Desire

So, which way would you guys go? I'm on Rogers, so the real question is, does anyone think that the extra cost for having to buy a Telstra Desire and have it shipped from Australia to Canada is worth it? I love trackpads and Sense UI, but then again, saving a couple hundred bucks never hurt...

    iPhone DROID observations

Nope. UMTS is a shared data-voice network, EV-DO is data only. While Droids may have an impact on EV-DO availability, it will not have any impact at all on voice. That is/was the biggest problem with 3G on AT&T. As soon as the the iPhone 3G launched and ramped up, it brought 3G to its knees...

    nokia messaging down again?

hey, i still think nokia makes some of the best tethering devices around. if they made an E51 with GPS, i might drop out of the E72 entirely and go with a smaller device to get my Itouch online with. my problem with the push failure is that i can't just press a button on the e72 and check my...

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia N97

I can also see it dropping in price in 3 weeks from launch. But SN always launches at an extremely high price. E71 was probably the only exception.

    *OFFICIAL THREAD: Nokia E71

It really depends on the GPS chipset and if there's data assist. For example, SiRFIII is still one of the most sensitive chipsets today. I take about 10 seconds usually, and still less than 1 minute while moving.

A smartphone with a very basic plan?

Te carrier should be the first consideration. What good is a cheap plan if you can't use it because you have no signal. You first need to find out which carrier(s) have the best coverage where you plan to use the device - where you live, work, travel and play. Not all carriers have universal...

Urban designer Johnny Cupcakes to make Looney Tunes t-shirts for WB Consumer Products

Well, he does do plenty of cupcake designs, they're just on shirts and unedible. I mean, unless you're into eating shirts, in which case, more power to you.

    "Dilbert": Your Thoughts

It's quite different from the strip but it's still faithful to it, IMO. Different in the sense that its scope is wider and its humour is SLIGHTLY less difficult for "Joe Sixpack" to get. However, it's still a show with dauntingly insider-esque corporate office humour if you have no concept of...

Toon Zone Talkback - "Thundercats": A Critical Retrospective

Thanks for feed-back folks. :) I was a little worried that I'd been a bit harsh to one the sacred cows of my youth. I should point out that my claim that Thundercats was outsourced to Studio Ghibli needs a little qualification: whilst the personnel were largely the same, the show is officially...

    T5 & FontBucket

Both your comments are interesting. I do not have a T5, I was using the simulator to test a highly featured wiki-style memo program I am in the process of writing. I own a T3 and absolutley love it. I did not realise that palm had stopped making them. I may well try and pick one or two up as...

    Adult-starring cartoons?

Everyone has a flaw, but flaws don't equal immaturity. Perfection doesn't equal maturity for that matter either. Aside from the Adam West version, he doesn't have much fun doing it. He does it to protect people. The fact that he puts the well being of the city above his own desires (such as...

Happy endings vs. Sad vs. Bittersweet

Sad and bittersweet endings. I like those kind of endings a lot. They're a lot more interesting to me. The problem I have with happy endings is that they can be so over the top, they just become downright silly. To me, as much as I don't like happy endings but how Avatar concluded is awesome.
