    Finding New Bands...

I can almost guarantee you will like Porcupine Tree Also, try a band called VAST. Not as heavy as tool or perfect circle, but they have a very interesting sound. Another sugesstion is The Tea Party, im not personally a big fan, but they are similar in style to what you are talking about...

    Sweeney Todd

Great, glad you enjoyed it. :) I thought it was a breath of fresh air. A horror-musical that has a very grim subject matter but yet doesn't take itself too seriously.

Great piece on S&TC2 in the Guardian

She's spot on, the whole SATC 'phenomenon' (retch) has been responsible for many evils in society. Gotta love The Guardian though for how some kind of accusation of 'racism' simply had to be worked into the article, even if it is brought up and dealt with fairly early on.

    Hollywood Remakes

i think it's more to do with the younger generation who have lost the magic of cinema that we used to have. Sure some of the sets were bad or moved and in old films from the 30-40s we got a puff of smoke from a gun and someone fell over with blood dead. Yes it wasn't realistic but if you are...

Remake that is closest to the original?

The Hills have Eyes remake was much better than the original. (imho) Agree with the rest though.

Liam Neeson-Most overlooked movie star ?

Well then you're talking about media acclaim. He gets about as much as he deserves I'd say, by which I mean he's an OK actor, but nothing particularly special. He's decent enough without ever doing anything to propell him into the spotlight. It seems to me that he frequently takes supporting...

Michael Moore's Farenheit 911 is official Cannes Selection

Sloppy but not deceptive. The clear message of the Bush and PAC aRAB, not to mention statements made to the media by Bush campaign staff, was precisely that: "Willie" Horton -- a dangerous-looking black man -- had been released by Dukakis and had then committed another serious crime. Note the...

    The Crazies

Hmmm... not sure how well it's done. It seems strange to me as well, it only came out on the 26th February.

    As It's almost Halloween...

Not actually a horror, but The BirRAB is really scarey IMO, has that real sinsiter feel throughout. I also love The Shining, and The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The Saw movies are good too IMO.

What's the scariest movie you ever seen?

This reminded me of Friday the Thirteenth and was more horror (slasher type) than scares IMO, although I agree the suspense creeped me out at times. If I was to choose a movie with both suspense and horror, my choice would be Suspiria by Dario Argento. It scared the wits out of me. The music...

    Nacho Libre
