Misadventures pretty well sums up what the actual filler arcs were. Not that the filler are really relevent anymore. They're easily skippable and have no baring on the series outside of themselves.

The Prince of Tennis, for what I've seen and read, really isn't exaggerated all that much, at least not as much as Eyeshield 21. Slam Dunk is probably the most down to earth. I would easily watch PoT over a real tennis match.

I think it does count. Galaxy Express 999 won, despite it being online- and download-only. As long as it's not at the same level as Inuyasha Final Act or FMA: Brotherhood, I think a Gintama nomination should be accepted. Then again, I don't run AOTM. It's JShaggy and the moRAB' decision.
