im more of a new age metal head, but i still really like the oldies like black sabbath, judas priest, nd wat not, the newer banRAB i like are Avenged Sevenfold, Illnath, In Flames, DamagePlan, and Demon Hunter.
It obviously dosen't represent all Indie but I see most Indie today as being either too miminalist (Sebadoh) or way too experimental for its own good (Animal Collective) or just plain unbearable crap (Deerhoof).
But I do like my share of indie. I have albums by Sonic Youth, Flaming Lips...
I don't think Monster is great, but i like the overall "feel" of it. On the plus side, a couple of the songs were really awesome. Strange Currencies, What's the Frequency Kenneth?, and Circus Envy are some of my favorite latter-day R.E.M. tunes.
Doesn't mean you're right. It just means you have no real argument and you're in denial. I think we all know who the REAL winner is.
Again with the no real argument, instead immature whining non-sense.
I guess I never really thought of it in that way before. Yeah, I suppose if a band has on the whole terrible material then they render themselves a bad band.
In terms of stopping, I meant from a creative standpoint. But then, of course that's being idealistic.
