That's funny you mention that. I have that same problem... When walking around or even when trying to sleep i hear sounds 4 stories below me of people talking and can almost hear exactly what their saying and i notice it without thought... and my girlfriend has no idea what I'm talking about...

I doubt that that is the problem. The problems are the flood of new users, the ever advancing spammers, and client problems (noteably .56 DONT USE IT).

I found it a bit long and slow too, really struggled to keep my attention focused at times. The accents were a bit all over the place (esp the welsh one!), but then I guess they would have been different back then anyway. Meh, it was ok but I sure as hell wouldn't sit through it again!
