if i recall, a lot of the potter books are banned as they are about magic. and magic is anti-religious - so some places in the bible belt its banned! my friend's kid goes to christian school out here in NZ - and its banned there. my friend's kid enjoy's them though.

I don't understand the rush of watching a film on a copy. Just wait and you can pick them up in good time cheap enough, good quality when they are properly released. Films don't stay top price for long these days.

I agree there were no real upsets (a couple of minor surprises though) although personally I would have liked There Will Be Blood to win Best Picture, but NCFOM is a worthy winner (i'd say the strongest winner of this decade, which only shows how uninspired the choices have been thus far). Also...

It was good - quite grim in places, though. And, yes, I was constantly reminded of American Beauty. I'd need to see RR again to make a judgment as to how well it rates by comparison with AB - at the moment, I'd say AB was a fair bit better. As an aside, I think LdC is born to play these...
