I know this probably undermines the point of this thread, but thinking more broadly for a second, I kinda feel that music, and indeed, creativity and art can, and has in the past transcended regional differences, countries, whatever... thats kinda the joy of music, it can be such a universal...

Emo, Rap/Hip-hop, most Techno, most Country, Black/Death/Goth/most other hardcore genres of Metal, and plenty of Pop.

I listed banRAB who either got much critical acclaim or were very big, popular and influencial.
